An evening of improvisation and sound exploration for augmented organ and accordion, presented by two seasoned composers and improvisers from the Montreal scene (Olivier St-Pierre, organ, Ensemble SuperMusique, and Ofer Pelz, accordion, Ensemble Tess). The combination of organ and accordion, two polyphonic wind instruments capable of a wide range of dynamic nuance, provides an opportunity for an exploration of the acoustic environment of the Église du Sacré-Cœur-de-Jésus, enhanced by live electronic processing and the unique wind-control possibilities of the Sacré-Cœur organ, which open the door to subtle noise and microtonal experimentation.Through a series of contrasting improvisations, the musicians will invite the audience into an immersive experience, at times meditative and intense, luminous and unsettling, in a rare instrumental encounter.
